Environmental Policy
Overview
Asckey is a software development company that develops facilities management and compliance applications. We also offer HSCN hosting and bespoke software development. We operate from one site located at 1 Cabot House, Compass Point Business Park, St. Ives, Cambridgeshire PE27 5JL.
Responsibility
Asckey is committed to safeguarding the environment and minimising our environmental impact as best we can. The Management Team take the lead responsibility in meeting the requirements of Asckey’s Environmental Policy. They are responsible for ensuring there is appropriate provision and resources to achieve and maintain certification to the ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to outline how Asckey will endeavour to minimise its environmental impact and carbon footprint.
Objectives
As a software development company, our environmental impact is low but in order to maintain this we shall:
- Comply with all relevant environmental legislation.
- In Health and Safety staff briefings, we will raise awareness of environmental issues and encourage staff to support improving Asckey’s performance.
- Ensure staff are familiar with all the environmental requirements relevant to their role and responsibilities, including exploring the carbon footprint/environmental impact of specific areas of work.
- Ensure staff and contractors are aware of this policy and are expected to report any environmental, health, or safety concerns to the Asckey Management Team who will take prompt action.
- Remain conscious of the amount of travel necessary for our training/demo services to go ahead, encouraging green transportation modes and/or providing remote options.
- Provide a safe workplace, ensuring staff are properly trained and the office is supplied with appropriate safety and emergency equipment.
- Be an environmentally responsible employer by becoming a paperless office.
- Act promptly and responsibly to correct incidents or conditions that endanger health, safety, or the environment. We shall report them to the relevant authorities promptly and inform affected parties as needed.
- Promote recycling both internally and amongst our customers and suppliers.
- Provide staff flexible working to help reduce our carbon footprint.
- Ensure the responsible use of energy throughout our business, including conserving energy, improving energy efficiency.
- Regularly review our Impacts and Aspects Register to assess current mitigations and identify opportunities for development.
- Conduct audits and self-assessments of Asckey’s compliance with this policy.
- Where possible, source suppliers who also aim to minimise their environmental impact.Provide a recycling bin to encourage staff to recycle.
- Work towards meeting our carbon pledge of achieving Net Zero emissions by 2030.
